Independent Verification services is proud to be a supporter of the NZ Wood programme.
Geoff Henley and the Board of NZ Wood have achieved a degree of unity and common purpose within the industry that few others have managed.
Building on our strong wood culture in New Zealand's heritage, the NZ Wood programme is industry wide. It's purpose is to inspire the use of timber, a sustainable and very versatile resource for New Zealand. Key initiatives include education, R&D, information, design and promotion of New Zealand forests and wood products.
"The NZ Wood campaign has taken the real advantages and value of our timber and graphically presented this to all users of wood, demonstrating that New Zealand timber is the most sustainable raw material." says Peter Webb, IVS Chief Executive "When timber is combined with the right treatment process, which is correctly applied, consumers have a product that looks great and lasts a lifetime."
The NZ Wood website provides a huge knowledge base about New Zealand grown wood, offering resources for users of wood and timber products, and is well worth a visit.
ForestWood 2010...is the pan-industry conference being being held on 12 October 2010 at Te Papa in Wellington (following the NZ Wood Timber Design Awards on the previous evening). The conference will be focused on the forest industry’s contribution to New Zealand’s future prosperity i.e. how it can maximise value through the value chain, the sector’s relationship with the community and the challenges facing the different sectors. Jointly hosted by the Forest Owners Association, the Wood Processors Association, the Pine Manufacturers Association, the Forest Industry Contractors Association and supported by Woodco, the NZ Farm Forestry Association and the Frame & Truss Manufacturers Association, ForestWood 2010 will be a great opportunity for organisations and individuals with an interest in forestry to engage with decision makers and professional specialists from the sector.
