Effective of 1 February 2009, all MAF-approved transitional facilities must have a certified operator, and in some cases a deputy operator, to maintain the overall responsibility for their biosecurity operational aspects. An Operator is the designated person whose name appears on the MAF Biosecurity NZ operator approval certificate.
IVS offers an approved transitional facility operator training course enabling you to meet the MAF Biosecurity NZ requirements. The course promotes biosecurity awareness, helping participants gain an understanding of the legal requirements associated with being an operator, and forms part of the process to gain or maintain approval of a transitional facility.

Course participants will gain new knowledge and skills required to effectively operate a MAF Biosecurity NZ approved transitional facility. Under the TF Gen Standard, some transitional facilities are required to have a trained deputy operator on the premises providing cover when the primary operator is not present.
