The 2025–26 cruise season demonstrated high levels of industry compliance with New Zealand's biosecurity requirements.
Nineteen of the 20 cruise lines operating in New Zealand participated in the Recognised Cruise Line Programme, while passenger compliance reached an impressive 99.91%.

Biosecurity New Zealand has expanded its international awareness campaigns to encourage travellers to declare or dispose of risk goods before arriving in New Zealand.
New signage has been introduced at major transit airports, including Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bangkok, while targeted digital campaigns are reaching travellers from China, India, and the Philippines in their own languages.
The campaigns also extend to friends and family already living in New Zealand, helping reinforce that many commonly imported food items are readily available locally and don't need to be brought across the border.
